WJHS students & families, Tomorrow the building is open 8am-3pm and 6pm-7:30pm for supply drop. We encourage those that can come during the day to do so to help reduce large crowds in the evening. The secretaries will be in the office to help with any paperwork or payments. Please check Skyward for your lock number before arriving and double check you have the right locker before putting supplies in. Locks must be school issued. 7th graders will have locks in their locker. 8th graders should use locks from 6th grade or stop in the office to purchase new locks. As a reminder, masks are required regardless of vaccination status. Thank you! -WJHS

Congrats to our girls basketball coach Jim Rader on being selected as the Region 19 Girls Basketball Coach of the Year by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association! This is a well deserved honor! Congrats Coach!

Sue Paulissen and Mary Ann Kreinberg have been not only co-workers and mentors, but friends to many. On May 25th, we had the pleasure of honoring these two wonderful teachers in person, after their retirement last year. We look forward to having them substitute in the building and continue to be part of WJHS for years to come!

Help us congratulate Kristin Smith on finishing in 5th place at the IL Junior High Elite Track & Field Meet in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.36. This time secures the school record in the 400. Great job Kristin!

WJHS Girls Basketball open gyms will be Tuesday and Friday mornings 930-11am in the South Gym at the JH. These will run from June 1st - July 2nd. There is no separate girls basketball "camp" this summer. All incoming 6th-8th grade girls interested in playing basketball this fall are welcome to attend. This morning, we were happy to recognize six of our fabulous 8th grade students. The following awards are given out by local organizations and voted on by the 8th grade team of teachers. We wish all 8th grade students the best of luck as they enter high school. We truly will miss them, but can't wait to see all they accomplish! WJHS Families - This is a friendly reminder to please bring school-issued Chromebooks AND chargers to school today to be returned.

WJHS Families, If your student checked out a Chromebook from school, please remember to send it tomorrow morning, along with the charger. These will be collected at the end of the day. Remote Students - please bring any checked out supplies, including Chromebooks, to school tomorrow or Monday. The office is open until 4pm each day.

We have a state champion! Reese Kite won the SIJHSAA state golf tournament today with a score of 71. She finished 9 strokes ahead of second. Way to dominate and play a great round, Reese!

Today we recognized our May Staff Member of the Month, Mrs. Gabel. Mrs. Gabel is our social worker from Perandoe. She develops great relationships with our students, stays in contact with parents, and is always willing to jump in when we need her! Thank you for all you do at WJHS and Gardner, Mrs. Gabel!

Congratulations to the girls track & field team on their Regional Championship yesterday! The boys also did well, placing 3rd. Great job Bulldogs!

Tomorrow is the last day to order a WJHS yearbook for $30.  After then, the price will be $35.  The last and final day to order a yearbook is Friday, May 21st.  Pick up a yearbook order form in the front lobby or order online below.
