WJHS would like to congratulate our boys and girls bowling teams who competed in the state tournament over the weekend. The boys team placed 3rd, led by 8th grader Sam Beck, who placed 6th individually. The girls team placed 4th, led by 8th grader Quinn Ahrens, who placed 4th individually. Congrats to our athletes and coaches on their successful season!
Elsa's pollinator garden is blooming with homemade tulips sharing messages of support, strength, and care for Elsie and the Wiemerslage family. Our students and staff have also raised funds for Elsa's bucket list through a hat day and our recent trivia night. We want the Wiemerslages to know that no one fights alone. Your Bulldog family is with you.

WJHS is pleased to announce that Mr. Hunter Beattie is our Staff Member of the Month for March! Mr. Beattie teaches Special Education Literature and Language classes and is also our resident musician! We occasionally get to enjoy his guitar-playing and singing! He's a man of many talents, and we are grateful for his investment in our students and school community. Congrats, Mr. Beattie!
WJHS recently recognized students who were nominated to receive an award for the February Bulldog Trait of the Month - PATIENT. We are so thankful for students who are able to display patience in the school setting and beyond. That skill shows a level of maturity and social-emotional development that will serve them well in every setting! Congrats!

This Wednesday, Feb. 26 is National Pink Shirt Day, which is a movement to stand against bullying. This event began in 2007, inspired by an act of kindness from two high school students who noticed a new student being bullied for wearing a pink shirt. They decided to take action. They bought 50 pink shirts and encouraged their peers to wear them in solidarity. The next day, many students showed up in pink, creating a powerful statement against bullying that has continued to grow since then. This Wednesday, we encourage everyone (students, staff, parents) to wear pink and find ways to spread kindness. Let's stand together against bullying and promote kindness and inclusivity!
In support of Elsie Wiemerslage and her family, our district is raising funds for Elsie's bucket list items by having a HAT DAY this Thursday, Feb. 27! Please wear a hat and make a donation to show your love & support!

Attention 8th grade parents & students! The WHS Guidance department is hosting an informational event tonight for students who will enter high school next year. Parents and students are invited to attend. Join them at 6:30pm in the WHS auditorium. The event will last about an hour. If you are unable to attend tonight, there will be an additional opportunity later in the school year.
To celebrate National Kindness Week and Valentine's Day, Student Council is selling ring pop candy grams this week!
Congratulations to Mrs. Walthes! She was selected as the WJHS Staff Member of the Month for February! In addition to teaching 7th grade Literature and Language classes, Mrs. Walthes serves our school as the yearbook sponsor and is the chairperson for the Literature Department. She is a valuable asset to our school community in so many ways!

The students in the photo were nominated for displaying that trait. We are thankful for students who share this trait with their classmates and teachers!
