Good morning. A few reminders for the day. Folders will be ready for pick up today at 3pm, through Tuesday at 8am. Monday is the Labor Day Holiday. Kindergarten and First Grade parents will be sent an email after 3pm today with a link to an important survey. The survey is asking for information from you that is important as we begin planning and transitioning for in-person learning. A date for return and a schedule is still in discussion. We are hopeful that all students will be able to come back for in-person at some point in the near future. Please be sure to fill out the form. Thank you and have a great holiday weekend!

Black Folders will be out and ready in the deck boxes by 3pm today. Remember to pick these up, and drop off the orange folder, by Monday at 8am. If you need help this week getting the folder please let your teacher know. On behalf of all the teachers at Zahnow, THANK YOU for all that you are doing to support your child remotely. We also want to let you know that we appreciate the feedback you are sharing with your teachers, both things that are going well, and things that we can improve. Posting negatively on social media will not help solve these problems. We encourage you to reach out to us directly. We want to help! Our staff wishes you a wonderful weekend!
This is a Friendly Reminder to turn in your bus transportation information at the Zahnow School Office. If the student is transported anywhere other than their home address, a Special Bus Request form must be turned in for routing and organizational purposes. If this form is not turned in, the student will not be picked up at that location. This includes transportation to and from school, and to and from day care/sitter locations. If you have questions please call the Zahnow office. Thank you!

Thank you to all students, parents & staff for a great fist week of orientations! We appreciate your patience & understanding as we all continue to move positively forward with our remote learning.
DECK BOXES for picking up and dropping off Paper & Pencil Practices and Assignments: Kindergarten boxes are on the patio of the bus drive lane. First grade is on the front entrance patio and EC/PreK are on the west side patio by the small playground on the front west side. The boxes have two sides, "Pick up" & "Drop Off".
This Friday & weekend, only first grade will be picking up their orange folder and dropping off their black folders. See the pictures below for a visual. K, EC, PreK will begin next Friday. All folders will be ready for exchange on Fridays at 3:00 pm and may be picked up any time before Mondays at 8:00 am (or the first day of the school week). If you have questions or need additional directions or help, please first email your teacher for help. Thank you & have a great weekend!

This week you will be receiving and invitation to sign up for a Parent-child Orientation Meet & Greet with your child's teacher. We look forward to having you come in, meeting you & your child, and answering questions you have about our remote learning. We want to help you and make this process as stress-free as possible. For those who signed up for a Chromebook device, remember you can come in this week any time from 8-3:00 to check it out and on Thursday from 8-6:00. Parent & Child Orientation and Meet-n-Greet with your child's teacher.
You and your child will be receiving information in a few days about signing up for a Orientation & Meet and Greet. At the meeting your teacher will answer your questions about remote learning, using Google Classroom, and the resources being used for instruction and learning. Teachers may also do some short students assessments in reading, writing and math skills. First Grade dates are Aug. 17 & 18. Kindergarten will be Aug. 19, 20, 21.
Teacher Assignments have been completed. If you want to view your child's teacher, log in to your Skyward account and select "Schedule". Thank you for your patience.
Happy Monday! Students' classroom teacher assignments will be available on Skyward today, but not until this afternoon. Reminder that the start date for remote learning is August 19. Announcements will be coming for dates of small group Meet n Greets and Orientations with classroom teachers.

Acceptable Device for Google Classroom for Remote Learning: iPads, iPhones, and some tablets will not work with Google Classroom. If you do not have a device that will work for your child and remote learning, the school will provide this device. Sorry for any confusion. An FAQ will soon be posted on our website. If you have questions email me and if it is a question frequently being asked I will add it to this FAQ on our site. Thank you!

Good afternoon. You should have received an email letting you know our plans for beginning the school year remotely. If you did not, please reach out to our office so we can check that your contact information is correct. We will be using your contact info to update you as we create our plans for student learning and instruction. A question that has been asked often today is about a device for the students. The answer: A device will be made available to any student that needs one. Information will be sent closer to the start of school regarding picking up a device. 1st graders will be using Chromebooks and PreK & K will be using iPads. To help with general questions you might have, I am creating a Question & Answer document that parents can go to and get answers to questions & share additional questions with me.
