School Supply Drop Off & Misc. Info.

Good afternoon parents:

We are looking forward to seeing some familiar faces on Monday, August 9 for our 7th and 8th grade supply drop/walkthrough.  In order to limit the number of students and parents in the building at one time, we have decided to open the building up from 8am-3pm as well.  So, you are welcome to drop off supplies and walkthrough any time from 8am-3pm or from 6:00pm-7:30pm.

Just a few reminders:

- In order to keep the group sizes small, we ask that only the student and one parent attend.  Please no siblings.

-Please print off a copy of your child’s schedule.  Also, make note of your child’s locker number as it is not located on the schedule you print from Skyward.  The locker number can be found in student info in Skyward.

- Students should bring their supplies as they will be able to get into their lockers and put them away.  Locks will be inside of lockers for 7th graders. 8th graders should bring their locks from 6th grade. New locks may also be purchased in the office.  You will put one lock on the locker and take the other one home to practice. (Students will not be permitted to carry backpacks with them from class to class this year). The 2nd lock will be used for the students' PE locker. (Students will be dressing out for PE this year).  All 7th and 8th grade students will use the locker rooms in the main gym.

- The office will be open if you need to drop off any paperwork or payments.  PE clothes will be distributed once school starts, but feel free to check sizes or order them in the office while you are here!

A few other things regarding school this year:

- We will still be using MiineHealth to certify students.  Please do this each morning.   More information will be shared soon about setting up a MiineHealth account.

- Students will report to their lockers and then to first hour when they arrive at school each day. If students are eating breakfast, they will report to the cafeteria when they arrive at school each day.

-8th graders should be dropped off at the main entrance.  7th graders may be dropped off at either the main entrance or the north entrance.  6th graders should be dropped off at the north entrance.

-Students may be picked up at either entrance or the lot behind the main gym.

-There will be no late start Monday this year.

- Currently, we strongly encourage all unvaccinated individuals to wear a mask while in the building.  Recent CDC guidance has recommended that all individuals wear masks in K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status.  We have not received an update from the state regarding this recommendation and will notify you if something changes.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to the office at 939-3457 or email Dr. Schwartz (nschwartz@wcusd5.net) or Mrs. Cruser (acruser@wcusd5.net).
