Beginning next week, we will have a "Poppin Popcorn" Fundraiser. The money we make will go towards student incentives like dances, prizes for trivia night, snacks, etc. If you like these things, we need your help. We will share an online link next week that you can send to your family and friends. When someone places an order online, the popcorn will be shipped directly to them. That's all there is to it. You won't need to deliver anything nor collect any money.
We will have two incentives for the program:
1. For every three bags of popcorn that you sell, you will get a free snack bag of popcorn. (The popcorn is delicious and comes in over 20 flavors!)
2. The top three sellers in the school will receive a $100 Visa Gift Card that you can use anywhere.
This week we started the 1st quarter behavior incentive - which will be a Halloween Dance in October. We will be using a 3-strike system to earn the privilege of attending this event. Any behavior that results in a detention will count as 1 strike. In-school suspension will count as 2 strikes. Out-of-school suspension will count as 3 strikes. Stay tuned for more details on the date and time and make good decisions regarding your behavior at school so you can be part of the fun!
Reminder: All students who ride a bus home must exit through the doors at the back of the building and ride a transfer bus over to Gardner. All students who are walking home or being picked up, must exit the building through the main entrances only and use the crosswalks at the north and south ends of the building. The circle drive doors are not an exit point at the end of the day.
Part of being a successful student is being in class regularly. Each quarter, the PBIS team has an incentive for students who have excellent attendance rates of 90% or higher. To earn this incentive, you must have less than 4 absences in the quarter. We will announce the incentive at the end of the quarter, but make good choices about attending school now so that you can take part in it later!
The first Stories and Slices Meeting will be during study hall on October 10 when we will zoom with Elle McNicoll, the author of A Kind of Spark.
