Science Olympiad Hits the Ground Running

Following the half day, the WHS Science Olympiad team started competing in the Battle of the States, a virtual and asynchronous tournament featuring teams from Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin!

The WHS team will be competing throughout January and February in events like Chem Lab, Geologic Mapping, Material Science, and Experimental Design. Each event will contribute to our state’s overall score, with the focus on State Rankings

rather than individual team rankings.

This is a great opportunity to work together as a team, represent Illinois, and reduce the pressure on individual performances. It is also excellent preparation for the upcoming SWIC Regional on March 1st. Let’s go Team Illinois!
